Quality Index Education & Teaching (QSL)

Description

The Quality Index Education & Teaching (QSL) is an interactive dashboard for visualizing selected KPIs from the Course Evaluation and Graduate Survey tools. The KPIs provide information on the quality of courses and studies as well as on the employability of graduates and thus support an evidence-based strategic development of education and teaching at UZH.

Purpose

The QSL is designed as a leadership support tool and provides the Executive Board of the University and the Executive Boards of the faculties with user-friendly information on quality-related issues in the area of education and teaching.

Frequency / Timeline

The information is available at any time. The data is updated according to the underlying quality instruments.

KPIs

    These management-relevant KPIs can be output as a time series or as comparative data for the faculty and SHIS discipline levels:

  • Quality of the teaching staff: overall satisfaction, rating of various aspects of quality
  • Quality of the courses: overall satisfaction, rating of various quality aspects, benefit for the entire study program, workload, acquisition of competencies
  • Quality of the studies (retrospective): overall satisfaction, rating of various quality aspects, competencies acquired vs. required
  • Employability: unemployment rate, adequacy of employment, income

Stakeholder groups involved

  • Executive Board of the faculties (Deans, Vice Deans of Studies, and selected staff from the Offices of the Deans and Deans of Studies) have access to the KPIs.
  • Members of the Executive Board of the University are also authorized to view the QSL.
